Optimists do?
We're teamed with over 4,200 other Optimist Clubs to form Optimist
International, one of the world's largest service club organizations.
We work to benefit youth through various
service programs, activities, and
scholarships. Our community and youth service work is built around the
philosophy of positive thinking -- the words of the
Optimist Creed convey the meaning behind our
approach.
Members attend regular club meetings,
volunteer for projects, serve on committees, receive "The Optimist"
news magazine, and enjoy fun and fellowship with like-minded
individuals. Members better themselves personally and professionally
through the many leadership and personal development opportunities
made available through the club.
Every year we hold our
Installation Banquet. We recognize the
achievements of our members and install our new officers. (The
Optimist administrative year is October 1 - September 30)
How is North
Side
Optimist funded?
We're funded through two sources: modest member dues and income from
fundraising projects. Member dues typically cover club administrative
and operating costs,
and a portion of the cost of community service work. Most of
the money used to run our youth service projects is generated from
fundraisers. All income from fundraisers is returned to the community in the form of service projects
or charitable donations. The North Side Optimist Club is a 501(c)(3)
organization affiliated with Optimist International.
