The Caravan Cycle

The Caravan Cycle

I recently heard someone on the radio describing caravaning as ‘cheat camping’. His description of caravaning was driving in your ‘home away from home’ trailer just to park and sit in another location to watch your TV. Well, that may be how some people do it but for most caravan fans, that’s not the way things go.Experienced caravan owners take their choice of holiday accommodation all around the country and are able to have the freedom to go wherever they like, without the hassles of camping. Camping means you have to set up your base from the beginning every single time you make a stop. Caravans are fully equipped all year around and ready at a moment’s notice which is especially advantageous with small children.

When we first began our caravan holidays the children were young and we went off to the mountains for some fresh air and beautiful scenery. The first caravan we purchased was not lavish but, as with many young couples, our money was tight. It was a kindly donated well used caravan from my in-laws with a little pop top and was only 12 feet long, which made it very easy to tow. It was fairly basic but perfectly satisfactory.Naturally, we needed more space as the children got older and we were able to upgrade to a secondhand four bed caravan. With its own little bathroom and a well-equipped kitchen there was even room for a TV, but that was just a little bit more than we were interested in having on our vacations. It was a little more difficult to tow around, but that didn’t stop us. At least 12 times a year we would go of for little breaks or weekends and sometimes even took the dogs with us. We have since had a few other caravans and the largest had six beds. It seemed to have everything other than a swimming pool but that was okay because the children always had plenty of friends to come along for company. Our in-laws got older and less independent so were always happy to come along for a little change of scenery also. Our children are grown now and like to take their holidays in other places, such as Ibiza where the young people always go to get together and have a good time. They still talk happily about their caravan holidays and I believe that they have the greater knowledge of their own country now than other young people. They have friends that have traveled as far as the Far East, but none of them know anything about the UK beyond their own backyard. I was recently browsing online and saw a site that’s dedicated to buying and selling caravans for sale

. I wish that had been around back we got started.Naturally, I had an interest because were about to change our caravan again and downsize this time. We have always love touring, but our needs have changed and we are back to looking at a two or three bed caravan, so we can ride off into the sunset in our old age.

This site is awesome. It lets us place our own ads and pictures. The site reaches many more people than your classified ads in your local paper and I thought it would be a good idea to place a free ad detailing what we wanted and what our needs are. Wouldn’t it have been great if we could just exchange our caravan with someone who was ready to upgrade just when we were looking to downgrade? Our caravan sold quickly and we found exactly what we have been seeking for just the two of us.

Great Deals!.
